Maybe a little better than the rest

    ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - 10.5 Hour Battery Life
I have only had this Eee for a day but make sure you look for bios update in Asus updates. The screen is not as bright as my Acer. There are 2 bios updates and the latest is for a brighter screen setting. This makes the screen much brighter and as with all new computers it seems there are always important updates.

I like the little indicator leds which can be seen from above as well as from the front. The track pad is quite new I have never seen this design before but I really like it. There is not a separate cutout for the track pad but it is part of the case and there are little dimples that are the track pad. It works quite well all though I use a blue tooth Razer mouse which works quite well with this little Eee. The keyboard is quite nice and I have very large hands and I make a lot fewer mistakes. It seems a little quicker than the atom 1.6gh cpu but is not a big difference.

The asus vibe does not work, if it doesn’t work it doesn’t belong on my computer. Most of the dock software is for free demo software as far as can tell so I disabled it. As far as adding more memory dont feel like you need it for windows xp,you wont notice any difference.

Does anyone that has added 2gb ram noticed if the video ram doubles in the bios settings? It has not on other netbooks.  It comes with a nice case or sleeve and a recovery disk.

One real oddity that I dont like is they give you 2 large partitions instead on one large one, I would assume thats for installing another OS but its a waste of space if you dont want another OS. XP does not have the ability to merge partitions to make one large one although there are other ways to do it.I think they should have just had 1 large partition as anyone who wants to install another would probably already know how to do it. The only other negative is the card reader sees only 2 kinds of memory. Most will support Xd which is what I use in my camera. Most netbbooks have a 4 in 1 card reader.

The fit and finish are very good, no gaps and I like the keyboard layout.

There is on on off switch on the left to turn off the track pad a nice touch. I am more picky than most people and I would recommend this netbbok. The price might down after some time, it usually does.

Also if you install Firefox web browser and push the f11 key the browser becomes full screen, helpful on a small screen.

This unit runs very cool, I dont fell any hot spots.

A note about memory, This unit comes with 1gb pc2 6400. the 2gb memory they are selling is pc 667. While it will work you should find pc2 6400 its has a little higher bus speed ans is the same speed as the one supplied.

I love this product! I had used a mini-stepper before this and it greatly surpasses the mini-stepper. Putting it together was easy and moving it around is not hard either.

I use it most often when I am watching TV and it is easy to carry from one place to another. Before I used to eat while watching TV and now I am able to enjoy a few shows a week while also getting the benefit of exercise.

People have commented on how much smaller the step is from the gym ellipticals and that is probably true but I don't feel it as a bad thing, the motion is quite nice. It can easily get my heart rate up or break a sweat. My favorite part is the core workout - there are no handles and you have to stand upright and it really works your core muscles as well. I can feel my abs the next day if I watch my posture while doing this.

The resistance can go from easy to very hard. It counts calories (without knowing your weight so I am not sure what the assumptions are here for your weight). It counts steps and miles walked as well. One complaint about the display is that it doesn't go over 9999 steps, it resets then. But it does remember your steps and miles walked for a while (a week? two weeks?).

In three words: I love it! and highly recommend it.
